The Event Risk Blog

Think of all the things that could go wrong at an event and you will have a long list. It’s a horrible but necessary task. Let’s face it, no one wants to consider anything other than producing a successful event. The bad things, well they happen to other event planners don’t they? However, the most successful event planners always take risk planning seriously. They understand that if you don’t pay attention to event risk management it can find a way of biting you. Taking event risk seriously will save you time, money and reputation.

The Event Risk Blog is a resource to help you through the challenges of running events that become ever more complex day by day.  It is written by Paul Cook, who worked in the insurance sector for more than two decades. He had various roles in the industry which included: insurance broker, underwriter, claims analyst and Operations Manager. He is actively involved in the events industry and it’s this combination of understanding events and risk that enable him to share his valuable knowledge, insights and expertise for event planners everywhere.

The Event Risk Blog

Event risk is often put to the bottom of the pile of things to do when it comes to event planning. But the fact is that if you don’t take event risk management seriously it can find a way of biting you. Taking your event risk seriously will save you time, money and reputation.

The Event Risk Blog offers independent thoughts from Paul Cook who has worked in the insurance sector for more than two decades. But more than that he has taken on all sorts of roles in the industry being a broker, an underwriter, a claims analyst and an Operations Manager. Paul now wants to share his knowledge and expertise in a way that hasn’t been done before, by providing an independent commentary.
